Victorian Government to continue fee waiver for outdoor training
The Victorian Government is to continue its fee waiver for fitness trainers operating on Crown Land.
The ongoing waiver began in January last year with the Victorian Government looking to establish a new fee system for trainers who want to operate on Crown land under the Crown Land Reserves (Tour Operator Licence Fee) Regulations 2011. With this structure still to be agreed, the waiver remains.
Fitness Australia has been advocating changes to the way outdoor fitness trainers are charged when using Victorian Crown Land
Commenting on the waiver in January 2014, Fitness Australia Chief Executive Lauretta Stace stated "Fitness Australia is thrilled with the Minister's decision and will continue to work with the Government to ensure that any proposed alternative system provides an equitable pricing structure that promotes the health and wellbeing of all Victorians."
During this transition period, the Victorian Government has again decided:
• To issue a waiver for usage fees during 2014-15 for trainers currently licensed under the system, operating on Crown Land,
• That trainers will still be required to be licensed and pay the fixed annual fee under the system.
Fitness Australia aims to will continue to work closely with its members and the Victorian Government to ensure that any alternative system is equitable and promotes the health and wellbeing of all Victorians.
