Programmed expands with Turnpoint acquisition
Perth-based Programmed Maintenance Services has bought golf course, race track and stadium turf maintenance company Turnpoint for $9.1 million.
Turnpoint, which began as a golf course constructor and maintenance firm, has grown to include race track maintenance, with current contracts for Royal Randwick and Warwick Farm in Sydney, and also carries out turf work on major Australian sporting stadiums.
Programmed said the purchase would add to its property and infrastructure division, which includes ground maintenance services.
Programmed Managing Director Chris Sutherland explains that the the acquisition "will bring a number of long-term contracts and customers, and provide opportunities for us to supplement Turnpoint's existing specialist skills with additional services."
Turnpoint's founder and Chief Executive Andrew Purchase, who will join Programmed's Property and Infrastructure division, commented "the golf, racing and general sports stadia market is increasing due to the continued pressures on owners to outsource maintenance, access more specialised equipment and improve productivity. As part of Programmed, we will be able to accelerate our future growth plans."
Programmed directly employs more than 10,000 skilled and semi-skilled staff and tradespeople across a broad range of government and private sector industries in the leisure, resources, infrastructure, education, manufacturing & logistics and commercial/retail markets.
