Versatile Lakeview Ballroom boosts Joondalup Resort

Opened in October 2013, Joondalup Resort’s $12 million Lakeview Ballroom – a stunning 450-seat function room with exceptional exterior and interior qualities – has proved to be a versatile function space.

Designed by Award-winning Perth-based architectural practice Christou, the purpose-built function venue features extra-large, motorised screens (up to 6 metres in width) to engage audience and floor to ceiling glass to provide an abundance of natural light and sweeping lakeside views to the Resort’s 27-hole golf course.

Integrated LED colour change lighting system to the walls and ceiling will provide the opportunity to dramatically enhance and change the mood of the room.

catering for up to 700 people, the room can be divided into two separate reception rooms – Lakeview East & Lakeview West.

As well as its own reception and bar area, this function centre offers space and easy access for large conferences, car shows, weddings, expos, music events and even the most elaborate decorations.

Christou’s design received a Commendation from the Australian Institute of Architects - WA Chapter, under the category of Commercial Architecture, in early 2014.

The new Ballroom wqs developed in response to Joondalup Resort’s growing function business and a desire to create a unique and state of the art facility to further develop this successful enterprise.

Joondalup Resort Chief Executive Wayne Carroll sees that the Ballroom adds another dimension to special events being held in Perth’s northern suburbs.

He explains “it introduces a new era to conferencing and entertainment in the region.”
