Ultimate Sport Expo to showcase all of Australian sport
With the aim of showcasing all that is best about Australian sport, a new all sport exhibition, the Ultimate Sport Expo, will be staged at the Melbourne Showgrounds from 21st to 23rd November.
Created by start-up company USE Events Pty Ltd, the event has been created to showcase all sports within Australia, creating the largest sport expo in the Southern Hemisphere.
With discussions underway to involve over 100 different sports, and more than 40 sports having confirmed their attendance, within 50,000 metre² of indoor and outdoor space, the Ultimate Sport Expo is being promoted as a ‘one stop shop’ for all things sport.
Sport lover and USE Events Director Jason Cornish believes an event like this was long overdue in Australia, explaining “sport expos have been successfully held in Germany, USA and even Taiwan (and while) Australia has had plenty of fitness and health expos, it has never had an all sport expo, designed to showcase sports.
“Australian expos to date have been all muscle with little, or no, sport.”
Taking the event to the Melbourne Showgrounds was done, Cornish adds as it is “the only venue large enough in Victoria, to enable both inside and outside displays, competitions, interactive areas, retail and sports education.”
“All the sports we have spoken to are excited about this new direction in public engagement and the benefits of creating an expo designed for sports fans, participants and spectators.
“With the help of the sporting community we want to create an exciting, unforgettable experience for the expected 40,000 visitors.
“Exhibitor costs have been kept to a minimum to ensure good ROI, with every ticket sold benefiting our charity partner, the McGrath foundation.
“Many of these sports are non-profit organisations run by volunteers and without early sponsors, such as PSC insurance brokers Melbourne, the expo would not be where it is at today.”
The 40 sports confirmed as being part of the Ultimate Sport Expo include AFL, archery, basketball, cricket, croquet, cycling, dodgeball, fishing, football, golf, handball, kendo, lawn mower racing, netball, paintball, parachuting, pigeon racing, roller derby, skating, table tennis, target rifle and volleyball.
