Tourism innovators to lead industry summit
Australia’s premier event for the tourism industry, the Tourism and Travel Summit, will take place on the 18th & 19th August 2015 at Luna Park, Sydney – with keynotes from some of the world’s most exciting and innovative tourism and travel companies.
Headlining the event will be Daniel Houghton, the Global Chief Executive Officer of Lonely Planet, the world’s largest travel publisher.
Hougton will be offering insights on his reinvention of an iconic brands and forecasting what is next for travel as an industry and as an idea.
Anne Madison, Chief Communications Officer of Brand USA, will be presenting on the challenge of formulating and executing the USA’s first ever national tourism marketing campaign, and what made it such a success.
Stephen Attenborough, Commercial Director of the world’s first commercial spaceline Virgin Galactic, will discuss the commercial viability of space tourism and what it means for terrestrial tourism operators.
A veteran of the Australian aviation industry, Shane O’Hare, Senior Vice-President Marketing of Etihad, will discuss the current state of the international aviation and how Etihad manages to maintain an enviable brand position.
And in a much anticipated speech, Sam McDonagh, Country Manager of Airbnb, will be presenting on what the effect Airbnb’s rapid expansion will have on the regional hospitality market.
The event will also feature senior leadership from Virgin Australia, Helloworld, Carnival, the Australian Trade Commission, Pan Pacific Hotel Group, Travelzoo Australia, Fink Group, Contiki Australia and the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation. It will be an informed and engaging discussion of how to realise the extraordinary potential of this vital sector.
