Toowoomba Council reveals new disability change rooms for Yarraman Memorial Pool
Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has unveiled new ‘People with Disability’ change rooms for the Yarraman Memorial Pool.
Along with the new change rooms, a new chair lift has been installed to improve access to the pool and a new wheelchair accessible pathway completed between the kiosk, change room and the pool.
Advising that the Council is pleased at the efficient delivery of the project by local contractors Taddio Building Group, TRC Environment and Community Services Committee Chair Councillor, James O’Shea stated “these works have been delivered with some cost savings that will allow Council to complete some additional upgrade works for the existing pool facilities for the community.
“The contractors will (now also) work with the pool operators to carry out renovations to the existing change rooms, which will include replacing dated electrical and plumbing fixtures along with refreshing the paint and shower tiles.”
The $350,000 project was funded by the Queensland Government’s Unite and Recover program in association with TRC.
