TicketServ Asia Pacific backs Wings Over Illawarra air show
TicketServ Asia Pacific has reported on the success of the recent Wings Over Illawarra air show with sales and onsite services supplied by the company.
The popular annual event, held on 30th April and 1st May at the Albion Park airport saw a great crowd experiencing a wide range of flying and static displays.
Wings Over Illawarra opened on both days with a precision parachute jump by the Army’s Red Berets followed closely by the historic Lockhead Constellation (‘Connie’) flying over in formation with the RAAF Roulettes. After the Roulettes broke away Connie executed several low passes which impressed the crowds.
Further spectacular flying displays were given by Matt Hall in his Extra 300, Paul Bennet in his Wolf Pitts and Grumman Avenger, the Russian Roulettes, Geoff Trappett’s Mustang and the Spitfire from Temora Aviation Museum. The RAAF pitched in with heart-stopping displays of the F/A-18A on both days and the C-17A Globemaster and the AP-3C Orion on the Sunday.
Over the two days more than 20,000 people attended Wings Over Illawarra and, with the weather improving over the two days, the air show was regarded as very successful.
TicketServ supplied a full ‘white label’ web purchase experience prior to and during the event, as well as a full onsite POS service, with staff, POS equipment, scanning and sales and customer service. The use of SRO4 in all sales areas showed both the very quick learning curve for the casual sales staff and the ease of processing sales in all areas. Having recently integrated real time chip and payment devices, all POS stations offered direct processing of credit, debit, Eftpos cards across the event which further enhanced the sales processing.
Mark Bright, of event organiser Bright Events stated “TicketServ has been the perfect solution for our ticketing of Wings Over Illawarra 2016.
“The ‘white label’ purchase was hassle free for both the customer and the organisers.
“On the days of the event the professionalism of the TicketServ staff was outstanding as they interacted with customers and completed all transactions with ease.
“Data collection that occurred (was) very useful for future funding and organisation.”
TicketServ founder and Managing Director Ian English added “the ease with which casual sales staff could start processing sales, handle customer service queries and operate effectively in high demand sales points showed the strength of the software and the high level usability.
“This event showed the end to end solution so effectively from pre purchase online, onsite sales, scanning and reporting, and we were very pleased to be able to support ... the organisers of Wings over Illawarra 2016, in delivering this part of the event.”
