Tender awarded for design and build of new Koo Wee Rup skate park in Victoria

The tender to design and build the new Koo Wee Rup skate park (located 63 km south-east of Melbourne's CBD), has been awarded by Cardinia Shire Council to Baseplate and Grind Projects.

Grind Projects are one of Australia’s premier skate park builders and Baseplate were responsible for designing the Gembrook Skate Park in 2018.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Brett Owen advised “this is the exciting first step in getting this project off the ground.

“Soon we’ll be looking to the community for ideas about what features they’d like to see included in the new skate park.”

Westernport Councillor Kaye Cameron welcomed the news and added “the community has been patiently waiting for the upgrade of this much-loved skate park and we’re excited to kick the project off with the tender now finalised.

“The skatepark will remain open over the busy summer period with construction expected to commence in autumn.”
