New skatepark in the pipeline for Condingup youth

A project to build a new skatepark in Condingup, in Western Australia’s Esperance Shire, has been approved for funding under the Tackling Tough Times Together Program.

All up, 30 projects will share $1.1 million in funding being made available under Round 17 of the Program, which is run under the auspices of the not-for-profit Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.

The projects include silo art in Paringa in South Australia, an outdoor pavilion in Moonie in southern Queensland, and a playground and outdoor space at the Jerilderie Long Day Care in Victoria.

Advising that the projects supported through the program help families and businesses in regional communities cope with the stress of the drought while stimulating economy activity and renewing local infrastructure, Federal Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management Minister, David Littleproud stated “I encourage all eligible community groups to apply for the ongoing funding available under this program to make their much-needed initiatives a reality,” he said last week.

Round 18 applications have now closed, but expressions of interest for Round 19 funding may be submitted up until 10th September.
