Community inspired skate park to open in North Curl Curl
Work will soon commence on a new skate park in North Curl Curl on Sydney’s Northern Beaches following consultation with the community.
As a key feature of the highly anticipated North Curl Curl Community Open Space precinct, Northern Beaches Council has allocated $250,000 for the skate park project as part of its Capital Works program.
The community has played an important role in the delivery of the project, offering suggestions via the Ideas Board online or by becoming members of the North Curl Curl Skate Park Project Working Group.
A number of existing aspects of the precinct in North Curl Curl will remain, including the Community Centre, Garden and Council's Plant Nursery shed.
The Abbott Road venue was chosen after the area was previously identified as having a deficiency of youth orientated infrastructure. This facility demonstrates Council’s commitment to provide state-of-the-art facilities for young people on the Northern Beaches.
The project, south of the Community Centre, will be completed later this year, with car parking and a toilet also flagged in future works programs.
