Tasmania’s Festivale 2024 declared a 'sell-out success'
Festivale, Tasmania’s premium Summer Event which this year ran from 2nd to 4th February, celebrates the very best Tasmanian food and wine, beer, cider and spirits, arts and entertainment.
Organisers of Launceston’s 2024 Festivale have declared the 35th iteration to be a great success, with tickets selling out for the three-day event.
This year a total of 28,000 patrons went through the Festivale gates, generating strong trade for the stallholders.
This year the event boasted 72 food and beverage stallholders from across the state, including 12 first-time stallholders – and some stalls proved so popular that they had to keep restocking.
The six masterclasses on offer, featuring expert presenters such as celebrity chef Matt Moran, all sold out.
The entertainment program was packed with nationally renowned performers, with headliners Rogue Traders and Vanessa Amorosi keeping audiences entertained, and Sunday’s Family Day providing a fun program of activities and performances for children.
Through the Events Tasmania Major Event Partnerships Program, the Tasmanian Government supported Festivale with $810,000 for event delivery from 2022 to 2024.
Tasmanian Treasurer Michael Ferguson, said the excellent attendance numbers demonstrated that premium Tasmanian summer events such as Festivale were a drawcard for local and interstate visitors and added “There is a strong demand for the kind of program that Festivale puts on each year with its world-class food, beverage and entertainment offering.
“Congratulations to the Festivale organisers for another stellar event. I thank all the volunteers who helped support the successful running of this year’s event.”
