Organisers postpone Vintage Vibes Festival citing 'current economic pressures'

By Karen Sweaney

The organisers of the Vintage Vibes Festival, which was scheduled to take place at Tomich Wines, Adelaide Hills on 27th and 28th January, have announced that the event has been postponed due to “current economic pressures”.

The rescheduled dates haven’t yet been revealed.

In addition to the annoucement on Wednesday evening via Facebook, users on the Adelaide corner of Reddit shared that they received an email from Oztix detailing the news.

The Oztix ticket page also states that the festival has been postponed.

Vintage Vibes was set to offer two days of music, food, drink, and activations with the Festival having promised a stellar line-up headlined by International artists Rudimental (UK) and Groove Armada (UK) and also including Milky Chance (GER), The Teskey Brothers, DMA'S, Ball Park Music, Lord Huron (USA), Meg Mac, Cub Sport, Drapht, Marlon, Sea Girls, Stellie, Surahn, Winston Surfshirt, along with some popular local bands.

Vintage Vibes organisers explained why the festival has been postponed in the following statement released via Facebook:

“This decision has not been made lightly; however, current economic pressures have created a landscape within which the festival cannot proceed this month.

“Increased pressure on supply chains, especially to venues outside the CBD, alongside shifts in economic climates reflect the broader challenges many are facing within the industry. It has become clear that moving forward with the event in two weeks would not meet the high standards of experiences we promise our attendees, artists, and partners.

“Our mission is to create a world-class event in South Australia that celebrates the best in international and Australian music, and we will not settle for anything less, hence we have made the hard decision to push the event back.

“We understand that this will come as a big disappointment for many of the Vintage Vibes faithful, but, although refunds will be available via Oztix, we ask for your patience and support at this time by holding on to your tickets as they will be rolled over for the event later this year.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported Vintage Vibes Festival – from our patrons and artists to our dedicated staff and the local community and we are already planning and excited for what will come.

Vintage Vibes was added to Adelaide’s festival scene last year. The debut edition brought the likes of Gang Of Youths, Tash Sultana, Angus & Julia Stone, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Temper Trap, Hermitude and many more to Tomich Wines for an impressive weekend.
