Sydney to host biennial parks forum
The Parks Forum has announced that its next biennial conference will be held in Sydney, from 24th to 26th August 2010.
With the theme Common Ground, the conference will acknowledge the origins of parks as common ground for the use of the people and the preservation of our natural environment.
Common ground also represents the 'place in which people come together with those who have different perspectives, to establish shared values and approaches to the things we agree are important.
The conference, to be held at the Crystal Palace conference centre at Sydney's Luna Park, will provide an opportunity to find common ground across the many agencies with stewardship responsibilities for parks and land by sharing our management skills and knowledge.
The conference will also focus on opportunities to find common ground with the education, health and community sectors to build community capacity and support for parks.
With the Young Parks Leaders Forum being held in conjunction with the conference, the event offers an opportunity to find common ground with a new generation of young people, so that we can share our passion for parks and build support for future generations.
