Sydney Showground becomes one of Sydney’s most desirable music venues

Adaptability and strong client relationships are contributing to Sydney Showground gaining recognition as one of Sydney’s most desirable music venues. From scoring the exclusive Australian concert debut of the biggest Latin music star in the world, to sell-out DJ pop-ups and back-to-back electronic dance festivals, Sydney Showground has become one of Sydney’s best live music venues – and the line-up continues to get better.

Sydney Showground will welcome back FRIDAYZ Live following a hiatus in 2024, with the RNB festival returning bigger and better than ever before, welcoming international headliners Mariah Carey and Pitbull to ENGIE Stadium in October.

This follows the announcement of 3 x Grammy and 11 x Latin Grammy music star, Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS world tour, with the global superstar's debut and only Australian concert set to take place at ENGIE Stadium in Summer 2026.

Sydney Showground General Manager, Darryl Jeffrey notes “as a venue, we have always excelled at delivering large live events such as Knockout Outdoor and Dreamstate; however, in recent years, we have looked to expand that reach by providing further options for solo concerts and stadium tours.

“This shift came off the back of discussions with music promoters, where gaps in the market were identified that our venue could fill by reimagining the spaces we had on offer.”

These spaces included areas built for the Sydney Royal Easter Show, like the Charles Moses Stadium, which hosts the iconic Woodchop competition, and filling it with 4000 fans as one of the world’s largest DJs, Fisher, took to the stage for a surprise pop-up event.

Similarly, the venue worked closely with promoters to transform its pavilions into the ‘Warehouse District’, which has since seen music events like the Boiler Room and Peggy Gou take over, delivering unique experiences for fans in an easily accessible location.

Jeffrey shared “I think what we are offering is something different for artists and their fans, something that makes them stand out. Our venue is dynamic, and our spaces have a story, and that resonates with people.”

With a fantastic line-up of artists and events on the horizon, including HyperDome (June 7), Knockout Outdoor: Return of the Circuz (October 4) and Ridin Hearts Festival (October 25), which will announce its line-up next week, Jeffrey said the venue is ready for a busy 12 months.

Jeffrey added “as a venue, we have an exciting 12 months ahead of us, and the names keep getting bigger. From being the only Australian stop on Bad Bunny’s world tour to announcing Fridayz Live today, it's been non-stop, but we wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Sydney Showground has also hosted successful stadium tours for Green Day and Pearl Jam and recently wrapped up Midnight Mafia, following the venue’s hallmark event, the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
