Sydney Showground introduces innovative security system
Sydney Showground will be tightening its security this year, with the introduction of the Metrasens’ Proscreen 900 Plus detection system across all events including the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup cricket.
In a bid to continually improve safety without restricting crowd flow, the venue has been trialling the Proscreen 900 over the past few months and has rolled the system out across all major events as a weapon security measure.
A portable system, the security device has the ability to screen 50-60 people per minute in a flow of traffic, making it the perfect system for such a dynamic venue.
Hosting a variety of events throughout the year including many large-scale celebrations, Chief Operating Officer, Darryl Jeffrey says the team welcomes the Proscreens versatility.
Jeffrey advises “due to the dynamic nature of the events held at Sydney Showground, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to improve our efficiency and safety.
“During large events, such as the Sydney Royal Easter Show, we can have over 900,000 people entering the site over a two week period; this advancement will allow us to not only increase the safety of our patrons but will permit us to do so without compromising the customer experience.”
The Proscreen 900 plus system will be implemented at all up-coming major events.
