Sydney fitness and yoga studio set to launch young athletes club

Aiming to encourage children to get active and excited about movement and mindfulness from a younger age the Flow Athletic fitness and yoga studio in the Sydney suburb of Paddington is set to launch its Flow Young Athletes club.

Commencing as of February, the initiative will see the gym put on yoga, strength play and small group training for children and teenagers.

Flow Athletic owner and Director, Ben Lucas explains that “we found over the lockdown that our clients’ kids were participating in our online classes with their parents and were really enjoying it.

“As a result, several parents asked us to put on some face-to-face sessions for their kids.

“Given the current climate, we felt that it would be a good opportunity to provide an outlet for kids who are feeling anxious, as well as set them up with some healthy habits early.”

Classes offered, some of which will be presented by Kate Kendall - one of the most in-demand yoga instructors in Australia - include Kids Yoga (yoga and mindfulness specially formulated for the young athletes), Kids Club (mid-morning group play and activities session), Teens Club (after-school group training session) and Late Teens Small Group Training session (a strength training program with numbers capped at six to eight participants).
