Sydney Blue Sox announce arrival of American baseball legend at Sydney Tower Eye SKYWALK platform

Professional baseball team, the Sydney Blue Sox have announced the arrival of American baseball legend Manny Ramirez on Sydney Tower Eye’s famous SKYWALK platform 268 metres above the city. Sydney Tower Eye is a sponsor of the Sydney Blue Sox.

SKYWALK at the Sydney Tower Eye is an experience that allows guests to step out into the open air on the tallest building in Sydney for a breathtaking 60-minute one-of-a-kind tour during which expert guides point out famous landmarks and share Sydney’s best stories.

Sydney Blue Sox’s owner and Chief Executive, Adam Dobb introduced Ramirez and new hitting coach Rachel Balkovec atop Sydney’s tallest building ahead of the Australian Baseball League’s 2020-21 season.

The 48-year-old has signed a one-year deal to be a player-coach with the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League. Ramirez is a Major League Baseball veteran of 19 years, 12 time All-Star and two-time World Series Champion. He has made approximately $288 million throughout his career, making him the most notable signing in Australian Baseball League history.

Balkovec is the first ever full-time female hitting coach for a Major League Baseball team in the USA. She comes to the Sydney Blue Sox from the New York Yankees where she has been a hitting coach for the last year.

The Sydney Blue Sox are one of eight foundation teams in the re-formed Australian Baseball League and play their home games at Blacktown International Sportspark. For further information about the Sydney Blue Sox, visit www.sydneybluesox.com.au
