Sunway Lagoon to open Nickelodeon-themed attraction
Kuala Lumpur’s Sunway Lagoon is to open Asia’s first Nickelodeon-themed attraction in 2015.
Officially named as the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon, the addition to Malaysia’s leading theme park is expected to feature more than 12 attractions for fans and visitors of all ages.
Ahead of its introduction, a 160 metre² Nickelodeon retail store opened at Sunway Lagoon in Kuala Lumpur in the week leading up to Christmas, becoming Nickelodeon’s first retail launch in Asia.
Themed in Nickelodeon’s signature orange, the shop carries an extensive range of Nickelodeon merchandise, from t-shirts, slippers, stationery and school supplies to toys, apparel, drinks, party items and licensed products from the network's TV shows such as SpongeBobSquarePants, Dora the Explorer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon – the first Nickelodeon themed land in Asia, will be set amidst 10 acres of lush tropical rainforest to resemble a hidden world within a jungle ‘lost’ to the public since 1997.
The planned attractions include a Rain Fortress – an interactive water play area using reactive technology, a Water Spray Area, Giant Aqua Tube Rides, daily signature slime deluge and a variety of other water slide attractions.
Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon will add to Sunway Lagoon’s five existing parks, namely its Water Park, Amusement Park, Extreme Park, Interactive Wildlife Park and its Lynton V Harris Scream Park.
