Suncorp Stadium welcomes 22 million patrons since 2003 redevelopment

Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium has advised that the Brisbane Broncos v Cronulla Sharks NRL match on Saturday 8th June marked a significant milestone for the venue with it welcoming its 22 millionth patron since its 2003 redevelopment.

Stadiums Queensland advise that this milestone, achieved just over a year after passing 20 million patrons in April 2023, “underscores an incredible year of events featuring our key hirers - the Brisbane Broncos, The Dolphins, Queensland Reds, and Roar, more spectacular NRL Magic Round and State of Origin action and a lineup of epic concerts - Paul McCartney, Def Leppard & Motley Crue, Foo Fighters and P!NK”.

Stadiums Queensland went on to extend “a huge thank you to all of the fans that attend the venue for creating the incredible atmosphere that ignites Suncorp Stadium.”

Built as Lang Park in 1914, since its 2003 redevelopment the venue is a three-tiered rectangular sporting stadium with a capacity of 52,500 people.

The Queensland Government has indicated that the venue will host the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics.
