Suncorp Stadium among venues recognised in forthcoming Global Stadium Report

Ahead of another impressive concert season, Suncorp Stadium is among 20 venues selected for the inaugural Stadium Stars lineup in IQ Magazine’s forthcoming Global Stadium Report.

The 20 venues have been selected for the best concert experiences at this scale, as decided by the industry.

Suncorp Stadium - a venue of Stadiums Queensland managed by ASM Global – has hosted 41 concerts since 2006.

Suncorp Stadium was put forth by IQ Magazine voters and a panel of top production personnel, meaning it’s among the best of the best in the eyes of the live music industry.

The list considers aspects from ensuring fans have unforgettable experiences to making it easier for production crews and artists to work at their best and most efficiently.

Julie O’Keeffe Suncorp Stadium Interim General Manager said being included on this list was particularly welcome as it has come from within the industry.

O’Keeffe notes “while we always want to give fans an unforgettable experience when they come to the Stadium, we also strive to be great hosts to the performers, production crews and promoters alike.

“Part of our management model includes maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders at all levels ensuring that putting on a concert here is as streamlined as possible.

“These experiences give artists and promoters the confidence to keep coming back like we’ve seen with Ed Sheeran who will return to the Stadium for the 4th time next February.

“Being acknowledged on the Global Stadium Stars list shows we’re doing a good job in that space.”

Suncorp Stadium’s upcoming concert season includes shows from Metallica and Lady Gaga as well as a double performance by ACDC in December before February’s British Invasion seeing the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and Ed Sheeran coming for four and three shows respectively in February.
