Sunbather installs thermal pool blankets at Geraldton Aquarena
Having carried out an energy audit and feasibility study at the Geraldton Aquarena, Sunbather Pool Technologies subsequently won a City of Greater Geraldton a tender for the supply of pool covers and have now installed their state-of-the-art thermal pool blankets and rollers at the facility.
Backed by funding from the Federal Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism as part of the Community Energy Efficiency Programme (CEEP), Sunbather made a number of recommendations, that were subsequently approved, to reduce energy consumption at the Aquarena site.
The main aim of this component of the project was to deliver reductions:
• In the pool heating requirements
• Of maintenance on the air handling system
• Of building maintenance requirements and
• Water evaporation
The Sunbather proposal and design rationale won this project providing the Western Australian Council with a solution that met all of the above criteria and will provide significant savings in the energy costs of running the facility.
Solar pool heating and swimming pool covers supplier Sunbather offer all clients and potential clients an 'energy audit' to determine the exact costs of running their pool.
The audit aims to give managers and owners of commercial pools advice on the potential cost savings and return on investment on an investment in a pool cover and/or solar pool heating.
An energy audit not only highlights cost savings, it also shows the tens of thousands of tonnes of greenhouse gases that facilities can save.
