Sport Fan Summit returns to the MCG to address fan engagement
The Sports Fan Summit, one of Australasia's most influential, informative and insightful sport conferences returns to Melbourne from 30th June to 2nd July this year.
Now in its seventh year, and formerly known as the 'Sport is Fantastic' conference, the event has become a sport business staple and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever with more than 250 delegates expected to attend.
The event will be held in historic areas of the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
With the program and many key speakers confirmed, the conference is focussing on 'Fan Engagement', with presentations covering each of eight different disciplines:
• Ticketing & Membership,
• Stadiums & Arenas,
• Sponsorship,
• Events,
• Community & Social Responsibility,
• Fan Development & Fan Engagement,
• Digital & Social Media
• Broadcasting, Merchandise & Wagering.
The 2014 program simultaneously caters to both those with broad responsibilities across a number of the above disciplines and those with specialist responsibilities for specific areas.
Those delegates with broad responsibilities are presented with a well-balanced program with clear and discrete choices in terms of breakout sessions.
Reflecting the Conference's emphasis on learning and usefulness, at least 26 of those 39 presentations will be formal 45-minute in-depth presentations; typically in case-study form.
A number of executives from some of the world's leading sporting teams will discuss their own experience, primarily through the use of case studies. While there are a couple of international speakers to be confirmed, a stellar line-up of international Keynote speakers is already locked in:
• Austin Lally, President of Braun and former Chief Marketing Officer for Gillette
• Paul Turner, Director of Event Operations & Security, Dallas Cowboys and AT&T Stadium
• Andrew Silverman, Chief Revenue Officer, American Airlines Center; former Executive Vice President Tickets of the Texas Rangers
• Mark Tamar, Director of Event Entertainment & Fan Engagement, Seattle Seahawks & Seattle Sounders FC
• Julie Perlish, Vice President Consumer Insights & Research, National Football League (NFL)
• Jeramie McPeek, Vice President of Digital, Phoenix Suns
• Charlie Sung Shin, Senior Director CRM & Analytics, Major League Soccer (MLS)
• Martin Jarmond, Executive Associate Athletic Director, Ohio State University
