South Australian Aquatics Conference

Recreation SA has announced details of the 2009 South Australian Aquatics Conference.

To be held at the Hindmarsh Education Development Centre on 15th and 16th September the event will deliver cutting edge presentations on key aquatic management issues.

Presentations at the event will include:

• Leadership and Management in Challenging Times - Simon Weatherill, Chief Executive, Victorian State Sports Centres Trust;
• Sport and Recreation as a Vehicle for Health Promotion - Ian Kett, Kinnect Australia;
• Tune Your Website for Sales Success - Peter Cornish;
• How Customer Service Can Increase Profits - Lorraine Thornton, LT Associates;
• Power of Partnerships - Martin Sheppard, Smart Connection Company;
• Communicating Risks to Parents - Stan Wall, RLSS Lifeguard Services;
• Identifying Predatory Behaviours - Elaine Farmer, Surf Livesaving South Australia; and
• Climate Change and Sport and Recreation - Greg McLennan, WA Department of Sport and Recreation.

The event will also include a Panel discussion on Current and Future Challenges for the Recreation Industry; presentation of the 2009 Aquatic Facility of the Year Award and an industry trade show.

The 2009 South Australian Aquatics Conference is sponsored by Links Modular Solutions, Waterplay, SA Protective Coatings and Vorgee.

The event will also include the official launch of the Australian Leisure Facilities Association (ALFA) in South Australia.
