Papatoetoe Sports and Community Charitable Trust announce new General Manager

Papatoetoe Sports and Community Charitable Trust (PSCCT) have appointed Justin Leydesdorff as General Manager.
Leydesdorff has extensive facility management experience having worked for Manukau City Council, spent time working on recreation policy with Auckland City Council and was most recently the Northern Area Recreation Manager for Christchurch City Council with a portfolio that included QEII Park.
Leydesdorff has also operated his own consulting business and is well regarded within the Sport and Recreation sector.
PSCCT Chairman Rick Child, says "we had a very high caliber of candidates and it is fantastic to secure Justin as he brings a range of skills and the enthusiasm to take the Trust to the next level."
PSCCT operates Papatoetoe Sports Centre, one of Australasia's leading multisport facilities. Located in the Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe, the centre includes ten affiliated sports clubs and community groups under one roof in a state of the art facility that boasts an international hockey turf, six tennis courts, an indoor cricket centre, bowling greens, strength training facilities, cricket, football and rugby fields, bar and bistro, and meeting and function rooms.
Speaking after the announcement of his appointment Leydesdorff stated "this job is about people and making a difference in the community, both of which are my passions. The challenge is to get people involved, turn talk into action and continue earning the confidence of our partners and stakeholders.
"Most people understand how sport can change lives, but to me it's about being an active participant in your community. Participation is powerful and key to our wellbeing as a community.
Former New-Zealand cricketer and Manukau City Deputy Mayor Gary Troup has been an ambassador for the Papatoetoe Sports and Community Charitable Trust since its inception. Troup adds "it is great to have Justin and his skills back in Papatoetoe. There is great potential to progress on from what has already been achieved and Justin is the right person to do it."
