Fitness Australia presents at Women’s Health and Fitness Summit

Fitness Australia representatives were on hand at the Women’s Health and Fitness Summit (WHFS) in Melbourne over the weekend, presenting on the success of women who own fitness businesses.

WHFS is an annual gathering for all those interested in women’s health, fitness, and nutrition, offering a space to connect, share knowledge and engage with the sector as part of an international, supportive community.

The Summit brought together world-renowned speakers and presenters from various industries to inform and inspire all those present – their varied experiences and talents providing a starting point for discussion and exploration.

Both Fitness Australia Marketing Manager, Christy Collier and Membership Manager, Sonya Barber took to the stage on the second day of the weekend-long event to highlight women who own fitness businesses, with Liza Gishen-Kloeckner from @theBarre Studios in Rose Bay serving as a prime case-study.

The Fitness Australia executives delivered a video presentation featuring Gishen-Kloeckner that focused on her journey as a fitness business owner, her challenges, successes and her relationship with Fitness Australia, including services – such as Grow Your Fitness Business – that she has benefitted from as a result.

Commenting on the presentation, Barber stated “it’d be easy for anyone to get up and lecture people about the do’s and don’ts of running their own business at an event like this, but that’s not in the spirit of what WHFS is about.

“The best kind of examples we can give to people are real ones, and Liza’s story definitely fits the bill, so with so many amazing women at WHFS, we thought that it would be the perfect platform to profile a business like Liza’s – giving people a real-world reference.

“We wanted to show people the great work that Liza’s done to get to the stage that she’s at and how we’ve helped her along the way.”
