Ski resort operators join forces for national marketing campaign
Nine of Australia's leading ski resort operators have joined forces in a national marketing campaign to promote the NSW and Victorian snowfields.
The Snow Australia campaign will target families and young people to persuade them to holiday in the snow rather than look to overseas.
The campaign's user friendly website provides expert guides on renting equipment, learning to ski or snowboard, accommodation options and the best apres entertainment on offer at Thredbo, Perisher, Charlotte Pass, Selwyn Snowfields, Falls Creek, Mount Hotham, Mount Buller, Mount Baw Baw and Lake Mountain.
Snow Australia has been established to represent the interests of all stakeholders in the Australian snow region. Its stakeholders include ski resort operators, snowsports wholesalers, ski equipment retailers, tour operators, accommodation and transport owners and the broader communities of the Australian Alps.
Snow Australia's purpose is to encourage visitation to the Australian snow fields by highlighting the many winter adventures, activities and services available as well as interfacing with the activities of other tourism bodies including Tourism Australia, Tourism NSW, and Tourism Victoria, Regional Tourism Organisations, National Parks and other, smaller tourism organisations.
The Snow Australia initiative follows Australia's largest resort, Perisher, and Australia's highest vertical resort, Thredbo announcing in April that they would end decades of rivalry to offer a combined lift pass for the 2011 season.
