Cairns-based Tropic Wings names new senior management team

Cairns-based CaPTA Group has advised of the appointment of senior management positions in its Tropic Wings Cairns Tours and Charters business.

Driven by increasing demand and future vision for the company, which is now in its 40th year of operation, General Manager Colin Anderson and Operations Manager, Adam Pearen, have been appointed to newly created roles from what was previously one position.

Anderson has a career history spanning 25 years in the tourism, transport and hospitality sectors, most recently as General Manager (Tours & Marine) for Sealink’s operations on the World Heritage listed Fraser Island, and said he is looking forward to his next chapter with Tropic Wings.

Looking forward to his role, Anderson advised “I am very excited to be joining this reputable local family business and looking forward to new opportunities for Tropic Wings in the current operating environment.

“Tropical North Queensland is well placed to be on the front foot in the return of further international travel, and Tropic Wings is currently planning for this eventuality.”

Having previously been Operations Manager for Oz Experience and Adventure Tours Australia, Pearen looks to bring his many years of extensive, hands-on experience in Tours and Operations, and knowledge of the local area to the company.

He commented “with the difficulties faced over the past 15 months, we are focussed on the smooth operation of our schools runs, day tours and charters.”

Both will also oversee The CaPTA Group’s other two touring brands - Jungle Tours & Trekking, and Wooroonooran Safaris.
