John Schryver confirmed as LLA Chief Executive

Living and Leisure Australia (LLA) has announced the appointment of John Schryver as its Chief Executive.

Schryver has been acting Chief Executive of LLA since February this year, and is seen as having been integral to the successful recapitalisation and refinancing of LLA in August.

Schryver has over 20 years experience in financial and general management roles within the retail industry including eight years as Managing Director of Toys 'R' Us (Australia). He joined Australian Alpine Enterprises (AAE) in February 2005 as Chief Executive of the Falls Creek Ski Lifts, and was appointed Chief Executive of AAE (including Mount Hotham) in December 2005.

Julanne Shearer, Chair of LLA said "John has been a key part of the LLA team through 2008 and this appointment provides continuity of leadership for LLA following the recapitalisation of the group."

Living and Leisure Australia Group, formerly known as MFS Living and Leisure, owns Underwater World at Mooloolaba; the Melbourne Aquarium;, Siam Ocean World in Bangkok, Thailand; Busan Aquarium in Korea and Shanghai Chang Feng Ocean World; treetop walks the Otway Fly and Illawarra Fly and the Mount Hotham and Falls Creek ski resorts.

Further outcomes from LLA's 90 day operational review will be announced at the Group's AGM to be held in Melbourne on 27nd November.
