SGL appoints new senior consultant in NSW

SGL has recently appointed Simon Haire as a Senior Consultant in its New South Wales Office.

Haire (pictured below) brings a vast range of experience and expertise across sport, events, venue management, aquatics, recreation and open space to his new role at SGL, including over 15 years in the local government recreation and sport industry.

Commenting on his appointment, Haire explains “I am really excited to join SGL and be involved in some great projects.

“After years of experience in strategic planning, business management and project management I am looking forward to working on the large array of projects SGL is undertaking.

“I’ve already started working on a number of projects including the NSW Basketball Strategic Plan, The Kempsey Shire Caravan Parks Management Plans and the Oran Park Leisure Centre Business Plan and I’m looking forward to being involved with many more in the future.”

Holding numerous positions through his career, Haire has developed a thorough understanding of what is required for projects and initiatives to succeed in a government environment.

His most recent appointment was at Tamworth Regional Council where he was responsible for the development and management of major sport and leisure venues including the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre, Tamworth Sports Dome and Aquatic Facilities.

He joins SGL to support and further develop the company projects that have been conducted across New South Wales by SGL NSW State Manager Mark Upson.

Welcoming Haire to the SGL team, SGL Director Michael King added “Simon’s wealth of local government experience and specific knowledge of the NSW sport and recreation industry make him a key addition to the SGL team.

“I met Simon 10 years or so ago and have followed his professional development as he has moved through to senior management positions in Local Government.

“He has been very innovative in a large range of projects and he certainly has the attributes to meet our company core values of being passionate about our work, creating inspired solutions, high achievers and living what we do.”
