Set 30 Studio franchise secures $2.2 million investment from Collab Capital to drive expansion

Immersive hybrid group training franchise - Set 30 Studio (S30) - has secured a $2.2 million investment from the newly established investment group Collab Capital in a private capital raise.

The investment comes following the opening of its first studio in Queensland earlier this year, as well as coinciding with the opening of S30 Cockburn last month. S30’s franchise model launched in Perth back in 2019 and now has six franchise owners.

New S30 studios are earmarked to open in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth later this year, with the company continuing to go from strength to strength since launching franchising opportunities to the public in 2021.

S30’s concept presents a fitness space with nightclub-style LED lighting and pumping music to match. Offering 45-minute group sessions partnered-workout set to hip hop and RnB tracks, the brand’s name refers to the number of sets members will do in an average class, which combines functional fitness, weights and metabolic conditioning to present a sensory led, fully immersive exercise experience.

S30 General Manager and Co-Founder, Luke Faulkner said the company has experienced an unprecedented number of enquiries for its franchises across Australia, tripling its studio numbers since this time last year.

Faulkner notes “as we officially open the doors to our sixth Australian studio, S30 is at an exciting point in its expansion journey. We have tripled our footprint in the last twelve months alone and are now in a position to deliver a national network rollout and meet the demand we’ve seen in our franchise offering to date.

“With the support of our partners at Collab Capital we are primed to continue our expansion and already have a handful of new studios earmarked across the eastern seaboard that are set to open later this year. This will bring our total studio count to the double digits.

“S30 has been on an ambitious growth journey since its inception, and with the COVID-19 pandemic now behind us we’re full steam ahead in sharing the immersive S30 experience that our members have grown to love. Together with our franchise partners, we plan to reinvigorate the excitement of training for everyday Australians.

“With a record number of OG memberships pre-sold, the opening of our Cockburn studio was highly anticipated in the local community. With record sign ups, we’re pleased to share that our Cockburn franchise has opened up cash flow positive, which is a huge achievement for the team as a whole.”

Collab Capital Managing Director, John Zendler said the company identified a number of unique selling points in S30’s offering and structure, which solidified the opportunity to support the company with capital.

Zendler added “the team at Collab Capital are proud to be supporting S30 with the company’s expansion as it continues to grow and build its reputation as a leading fitness franchise group. We recognise the vast growth potential of S30 and are excited to be part of it all.”

S30’s purpose-driven approach to business has attracted franchise enquiries from across Australia. S30 Cockburn’s new franchise co-owner Yelena Lambrichs said after training at S30’s Mount Lawley studio, she jumped at the opportunity to be a franchise owner as it aligned to her core beliefs, values and drive.

Lambrichs shared “one of the values of S30 is making working out fun! Group fitness can sometimes feel a little mundane and tedious when you aren’t really motivated. When stumbling across S30 Studio, it totally fit my vibe with the amazing curated music and sensory experience with the lights and signature studio scent.  I love how the workouts are part of a lifestyle for me now and not a chore due to its immersive environment. My workout partner always keeps me accountable, whilst making friends in the process with the members all having the same mindset at the studio.

S30 Cockburn is located at 3/93 Prinsep Road, Jandakot WA 6164.
