Samba Sports Safety Goal Posts

New Australian standards for moveable and portable outdoor football goal posts, set to come into effect as at 31st December 2010, will help highlight the importance of goal post safety practices.

That's the view of Samba Sports Australia's Managing Director Lee Clough who is "thrilled" to finally see these new mandatory changes coming into effect.

As Clough explains "it is time for clubs, associations, councils, schools, field managers and players to get serious an adopt a safer practice when erecting and storing goal posts."

Clough is well aware of failings in storing goal posts as his home shire in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales was rocked in 2003 with the tragic death of a child caused an incorrectly anchored football goal.

Samba Sports UK has been committed to goal post safety for over a decade now and is the leading supplier world wide of UPVC safety goal posts. Samba Sports Australia supplies a range of UPVC safety goals that under the new legislation are exempted due to their lightweight construction by weighing less than 28 kilograms.

Samba goals are included in the Football Foundation's Goal Post Safety Grant Scheme in the UK, while also being an approved supplier to Football Federation Australia for safety goals currently being used for Optus Small Sided Football. Samba Sports UK attends regular meetings at the Football Foundation's head office in London where all aspects of goal post safety are researched and then improvements are constantly incorporated into the range.

Samba goals are the top selling portable goal in the United Kingdom and sales are growing fast in Australia. The goal posts are extremely safe, comply with all relevant British, European and Australian safety standards, are manufactured in the UK under strict testing guidelines. Specifically designed for football, they are extremely strong and durable and take a power of punishment; emphasised by Samba Sports' industry leading and newly extended five year warranty.

Manufactured from High Impact UPVC, the goal posts are UV stabilized giving them them a long lasting life for the outdoors. They come in a wide range of sizes for all types of use, are fully portable, easy to assemble and come with a carry bag that fits into an average size car.

Samba goals are used by many English Premier League academies, including: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Chelsea, Derby, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and West Ham United.

Samba Sports Australia also supplies a range of aluminium goals that are independently tested and comply with the requirements of the British standards BS EN 748:2004 and Australian Standards AS 4866.1-2007.

The implications of the new standard for moveable outdoor football goal posts is the subject of a feature in the November/December 2010 issue of Australasian Leisure Management.

As of 2013, Samba Sports Australia are no longer distributing Samba Goals. Samba Goals can now be purchased from the Pro Sports Group.
