Quayclean adds two new aquatic centres to its portfolio

Quayclean Australia has strengthened its position in the aquatic and recreation facilities market having secured new long-term cleaning, hygiene and waste management contracts in Victoria at the City of Whittlesea’s Mill Park Leisure Centre and the Shire of Mornington Peninsula’s Yawa Aquatic Centre.

The new deals with Belgravia Leisure, managers of the two centres, take Quayclean’s tally of aquatic and recreation facilities under its care to more than 40 venues across Australia.

Among Quayclean’s Aquatic and Leisure Centre clients are Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre; South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre; HBF Stadium in Perth; Geelong’s Leisurelink, Waterwork and Splashdown Centres; and the Hurstville and Lane Cove Aquatic Leisure Centres in Sydney.

Quayclean Chief Executive, Mark Piwkowski, said the new contracts reflect the high quality and specialist knowledge of cleaning the company possess. All sites are staff by a fully employed workforce trained specifically for aquatic and recreation centre requirements.

Piwkowski advised “the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted that cleaning, hygiene and waste management is a front-line service.

“Venue owners and operators are demanding the high quality level of service we provide our customers. They want their assets protected with the best capability in staffing and capital equipment to ensure consistent results, and that standards are maintained for the patrons and communities they serve.

“Our new online platforms also provide real-time data which demonstrates the range of services we deliver, and the regularity of when this work is being conducted.”

Sash Petrevksi, Quayclean’s founding partner and a Director, said the new contracts were personally rewarding, adding “when Quayclean first commenced operations in 2002, our first customers were aquatic and leisure centres. It is gratifying that more venues and customers continue to recognise the speciality services we provide in high traffic areas such as pool decks, change rooms and gymnasiums.

“Pool decks can be particularly hazardous, and we have over the years worked with our industrial chemists to develop our own environmentally sustainable and specialist cleaning products. As a result, contributing to no or low levels of injuries from slips and falls at aquatic centres cared by Quayclean.

“We continue to have a meaningful business relationship with Belgravia Leisure and are grateful for the trust it has in Quayclean.”

The Yawa Aquatic Centre is due to open this Friday (25th June).
