Prue Warrilow named as Y NSW's new Chair of the Board of Directors

Y NSW Board of Directors has elected Prue Warrilow as the new Chair of the organisation. Warrilow is the Chief Executive of Families At Work and, for 30 years, has consulted the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore on wellbeing strategies.

Warrilow is an industry expert in children’s services, and child and family services. She is currently a member of several state and federal government advisory councils and non-government organisations that strategically influence public policy thinking on child and family matters.

Warrilow notes “It is a great honour to be the Chair of the Y NSW and to serve its mission and purpose – especially as we embark on shaping the organisation’s strategic vision for the future.

“I have dedicated my career to ensuring that children and young people are given every opportunity to thrive and be the best they possibly can be – and this aligns completely with the Y NSW’s purpose and values.

“I look forward to leading this wonderful organisation in partnership with my fellow members of the Board and our Chief Executive Officer, Susannah Le Bron.

“On behalf of everyone at the Y NSW, thank Richard Hughes for his tireless dedication as Chair of the Board of Directors. We are in such a strong position as an organisation with a great future ahead.”

The announcement of Warrilow to the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Y NSW follows Richard Hughes’ recent announcement that, while he will remain a member of the Board of Directors of the Y NSW, he will retire as Chair. Hughes has been a member of the Board of Directors at the Y NSW since 2015 and has led the Y NSW through the challenges of a Royal Commission, the development of the Broken Hill Wellness Centre and provided strategic leadership and focus on the Y’s purpose and enterprise.

Y NSW Chief Executive Susannah Le Bron advised “on behalf of everyone at the Y NSW, I would like to express my great appreciation for Richard’s dedication, vision and terrific leadership as Chair of the Board of Directors. I am very excited to work with Prue Warrilow into the future.”

Warrilow has been a member of the Y NSW Board of Directors since 2020.
