Precor to personalise fitness experiences with Preva
Since launching a new Australian office in April to sell its commercial and consumer fitness equipment, Precor has set about building closer relationships and establishing a greater understanding of customer needs.
Located within the Melbourne office of its parent company Amer Sports, Precor now has a dedicated sales and support team in place, committed to building the brand with a range of products and offers including finance, integrated software solutions, service and marketing.
With the new Open Stride™ technology in their popular Adaptive Motion Trainer ® (AMT) and the introduction of the Discovery Line, a new line of plate-loadedand selectorised strength equipment, Precor’s product range is about to be enhanced with the launch of the Preva networked fitness feature in Australia.
With Australia one of the first countries outside of the US to launch Preva™, Precor’s Global President, Paul Byrne will be in Sydney in October to reveal a solution that can help better manage a facility, drive more revenue, increase retention and optimise cardio equipment assets.
Speaking in advance of his visit to Australia, Byrne explains “Preva is an exciting new feature in our networked fitness solution set for customers with the delivery of a personalised fitness experiences to enhance members’ workouts at the heart of the solution.
"It's part of a growing suite of business and fitness tools which has been created to help facilities differentiate themselves from the competition while at the same time helping exercisers better achieve their fitness goals.
“Our goal, which we know is also the goal of fitness club clients, is to keep people on exercise equipment for longer, which is good for both them and the clubs.
“We are also aware that all-too-many new members quickly drop out of club membership because we, as an equipment supplier, and the clubs have not met their need.
“What we are looking to do with Preva is to engage exercisers using our equipment, changing the way they conduct their workouts by seamlessly informing and entertaining them.”
Preva has been designed to deliver a wide variety of internet content carefully selected to give exercisers access to popular topics such as health and fitness, news, sports, technology, business and more, all delivered in a touch-screen format designed specifically for the in-motion exerciser.
Preva gives facilities the option of enabling web browser capability so exercisers can access their favourite websites during their workout.
Byrne stress that “Preva is very easy for members to use, they can get on and use it right way – it works like a good smartphone or tablet and is instantly engaging.
“Members can use Preva with the internet, using Google, Facebook and RSS feeds for performance like an iPad”, while members’ mobile devices such as iPods can easily be connected to Preva.
Located within the Precor P80 touch screen console fitted to the latest Precor cardio equipment, Preva also informs operators about asset usage across both single and multiple facilities in order to boost facility performance, and, as a cloud based solution, the platform can easily have its software updated and added to externally to provide exercisers and clubs with new features.
Planned updates will expand the operator's ability to communicate with their facility members and options to monetise members’ use of the solution through the introduction of premium content, sponsor information and/or advertising.
Byrne adds “we are also just a few months away from being able to personalise Preva where we will give different club segments to use it the way they want to use it.”
This will include the capability for personal training and group exercise to be delivered through Preva, and for personal trainers to lead workouts through the solution with programs accessible from a library or customer designed by trainers.
This unparalleled technology solution that combines an enhanced experience for exercisers along with improved business management tools, looks set to make Preva a powerful tool for attracting and retaining members.
Preva is set to be launched in Australia at an exclusive industry event at the Hilton Sydney on Friday 12th October.
