Precor launches Australian office
Leading fitness equipment manufacturer Precor has this week launched a new Australian office to sell its commercial and consumer equipment to the country's health and fitness sector.
Renowned for its innovation, Precor introduced the world's first elliptical fitness crosstrainer (EFX) in 1995, changing the face of aerobic exercise forever, and replicated this landmark achievement in 2007 by launching the world's first Adaptive Motion Trainer (AMT).
The Precor Australia business unit now sits within the Melbourne-based office of parent company, Amer Sports, the world's leading sports equipment company, which owns other internationally-recognised brands including Wilson, Atomic, Suunto, Salomon, Arc'teryx and Mavic.
Precor has agreed with Avanti, which previously distributed Precor's commercial and home market equipment in Australia, for a smooth transfer of all supply, service and support of existing commercial customers to Precor Australia. This was effective as of 23rd April 2012.
Precor Asia Pacific Regional Business Director Jack Trummer explains "Precor has enjoyed steady growth in Australia through its partnerships with major customers such as Anytime Fitness and Hilton.
"The new organisation will allow Precor to build closer relationships and greater understanding of customer needs so that we can develop the most suitable package of support including finance, integrated software solutions, service and marketing. The changes will see a dedicated sales and support team operating within Australia."
Amer Sports Australia Country Manager Adam Joyce added "with its leading brands Amer is a major player in the Australian market and there is great synergy in providing a dedicated team for our award-winning Precor commercial and consumer fitness equipment, which will enable us to provide added value to our customers in the region."
Formed over 25 years ago in Washington state, USA, Precor has developed a reputation for quality, excellence and innovation and is now one of the foremost suppliers of fitness solutions across the globe with operations in over 80 countries.
Precor is part of the Amer Sports Corporation, the world's leading sports equipment company, with other internationally recognised brands including Wilson, Atomic, Suunto, Arc'teryx and Salomon.
Having launched its AMT with Open Stride and PREVANet products at the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) 2012 Trade Show in March, Precor will be exhibiting on stand U10 at this weekend's Australian Fitness & Health Expo.
