Pool Lifesaving Championships Commence
The Royal Life Saving Australian Pool Lifesaving Championships have begun at the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra.
Australia's elite lifesavers are competing in a range of events simulating real life emergency situations that a lifesaver could encounter. These include a simulated emergency response competition, where four lifesavers must work together to save a life; line throws to reach a 'victim' to tow them to safety; and rescue medleys.
Teams from each State and Territory will be competing at the Championships, which run over four days.
