Fitness legend Jack LaLanne’s legacy to be celebrated at 2017 IDEA Convention

The 35th anniversary celebration of the IDEA Health & Fitness Association at the IDEA World Convention in Las Vegas next week will see a new incarnation of the legacy of global fitness Jack LaLanne.

During the Convention, being held from 19th to 23rd July, the Jack LaLanne booth will showcase significant memorabilia of the fitness icon while featuring the latest example of Jack Lalanne’s legacy: the CoreStrength1 Powered By Jack LaLanne (CS1).

Created by Jaime Cameron, this system incorporates the ‘Glamour Stretcher’ resistance bands, which Jack invented 50 years ago.

The LaLanne booth will consist of LaLanne memorabilia including photographs, trophies, a Jack Lalanne jumpsuit - which he famously wore on every TV show, and live appearance.

An added attraction will be a full size statue of Jack LaLanne so attendees can have their picture taken with it.

Most prominently, the booth will showcase the CoreStrength1 system. The ‘all in one’ system provides an easy to use platform with 26 attachment points for effective program development by personal trainers, coaches, teachers and fitness instructors. It can be used by up to eight people at one time making it ideal for circuit training or classes.

Elaine LaLanne, the widow of Jack LaLanne and ‘first lady of physical fitness’ explained “the CoreStrength1 Powered by Jack LaLanne engages all your core muscles which is key to unlocking unlimited potential in strength, power, speed, quickness, agility and coordination.

“We are thrilled that the moveable pyramid design of the CS1 is not only powered by the Jack LaLanne name but incorporates Jack’s original concept of the resistance bands.”

Jon LaLanne, son of Jack and Elaine added “this system is everything one needs to reach their fitness, sports and movement goals.

“If Jack were alive today and asked if he believed in it, he would answer: `Do you think I’d be saying this if I didn’t believe in it?’”

In collaboration with international fitness expert Peter Twist and Twist Conditioning, the LaLanne family is developing a research, education and fitness program, selecting master trainers and advocates of the Jack LaLanne legacy to join in this global outreach.

Twist advised “CoreStrength1 Powered by Jack LaLanne’s innovative workout technology aligns perfectly with our philosophy - integrating strength with movement and balance to increase both brain and muscle activity. CS1’s small footprint platform accommodates 1-1 and small group training bringing people to the next level of fitness"

Currently, CS1 provides health and fitness programs for the PALS (Police Activities League Supporters), Los Angeles Police Department Devonshire Youth Center in Los Angeles in association with Community In Schools, teaching the values of a healthy lifestyle - a passion Jack LaLanne promoted when he worked with PALS as a volunteer.

Other partners of CoreStrength1 include, University of Toronto, Toronto Police Service and PhysioMed Clinics in Canada.

Dan Isaacson, President of Sports Management International, Inc. and Hollywood Personal Training Pioneer concluded “I was honoured when asked to coordinate marketing and strategic partnerships for Elaine LaLanne and the CoreStrength1 team.”

The IDEA Convention is expected to attract over 10,000 personal trainers, group fitness instructors, club and studio owners and managers, mind-body professionals and nutrition professionals.
