PitchAI to improve performance and build interest in baseball in Australia and New Zealand

PitchAI is focused on baseball pitching mechanics and a partnership between ProPlayAI and Propel Sports Technology will allow Australians and New Zealanders to receive the same kind of biomechanical data captured by Major League Baseball teams right on their smartphone.

Based in Toronto, ProPlayAI was founded by a group of scientists and innovators interested in making the capture of biomechanical data easier and more accessible. It is focused on groundbreaking technologies to help sports development and injury reduction in athletes. PitchAI is a vital tool that can help build interest in baseball in Australia and New Zealand

ProPlayAI is partnering with Propel Sports Technology to be its exclusive agent in Australia and New Zealand with the agreement giving Propel rights to ProPlayAI’s innovative PitchAI product - technology that allows for accurate, validated biomechanical data to be captured by a smartphone camera anywhere, rather than with a fixed camera apparatus in a biomechanical lab.

Reed Hanoun, Chief Executive ProPlayAI’s parent company 3MotionAI explains “our technology is made to go anywhere and collect data that will help athletes study, refine and improve their performance.

“Our partnership with Propel will move player performance forward, giving everyone in Australia and New Zealand access to new A.I. powered technology. We’re excited to have such a great partner in a growing area for baseball.”

Scott Porter of PropelST adds “the use of AI by coaching staff in player development is fast becoming mainstream in sports globally, and we think the PitchAI app from ProPlayAI is a world leader in this space.

"From a coaching perspective, it's pretty easy to access data on how the ball behaves once it's thrown. What is really exciting is that the PitchAI app gives us both the visuals and data to see exactly what the body is doing during that process.

“PitchAI is inexpensive, you can access it on your smartphone and given the fact we live in a tech driven world, this is a big step forward in the evolution of both player development and coaching across Australia and New Zealand. Very exciting stuff"

The partnership between ProPlayAI and Propel goes beyond pitching, and is just beginning with Hanoun adding “we’ll have plenty more to announce soon. We feel this is just the start of a great relationship between our two companies.”
