Perth’s Morgan Park community sporting precinct continues to be transformed

The next stage of the Morgan Park community sporting precinct redevelopment is now underway in Perth’s southeast at Armadale with works commencing on a brand-new multi-use pavilion.

The pavilion upgrade is being delivered with $809,784 in Western Australian Government funding through the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund, aligned with the goals of PlayOn WA - the State's bold new initiative to build sustainable, inclusive and high-quality sport and recreation infrastructure across WA.

This marks the second stage of the Morgan Park revitalisation, following the recent completion of upgrades to the playing fields and sport lighting infrastructure - made possible through a previous $160,000 grant from the WA Government's Club Night Lights Program.

Morgan Park has long played a key role in supporting local football and athletics, and these upgrades will help meet growing demand while enhancing the safety, functionality and appeal of the park for all users.

Expected to be completed in early 2026, the redeveloped Morgan Park will feature a new accessible pavilion, upgraded playing fields, improved lighting, and modern facilities for athletics and recreation.

WA Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti notes "Morgan Park is a much-loved community space, and these upgrades will ensure it continues to meet the needs of local clubs, families and residents well into the future.

"We know how important local parks and facilities are to communities - that's why the WA Government is proud to support this redevelopment through more than $960,000 in funding.

"Through PlayOn WA, we're investing in quality sport and recreation infrastructure that supports healthy, active lifestyles and brings communities together."

Armadale MLA Dr Tony Buti added "Morgan Park is at the heart of the Armadale community, and it's fantastic to see this much-loved space getting the upgrades it deserves.

"This redevelopment will make a real difference for local families, sporting clubs and young people - giving them a safe, inclusive and high-quality space to play, train and connect.

"From grassroots footy to junior athletics, Morgan Park plays a vital role in supporting local sport - and this investment will help make it safer, more functional and more welcoming for everyone."
