Parks and Leisure Australia Conference to be a virtual event
Parks and Leisure Australia advise that the recent COVID outbreak in NSW and across many States, has left them with no other option but to postpone their face-to-face conference - PLA2021 The Park Bench, Reconnecting Communities - and to deliver the event virtually on 23rd and 24th November 2021.
The PLA2021 Virtual Conference will be a live event that includes keynotes, industry speaker sessions and networking opportunities. They are currently confirming the availability of keynote and industry speakers and will announce the revised programme in the coming weeks.
Parks and Leisure Australia Chief Executive, Mark Band advises “like most, this year we've had grand plans! This included delivering the PLA2021 Conference in Sydney. We've planned, re-planned, waited, watched, held our breath and eventually the health and safety of our members has come first.
“We understand that as an industry we are yearning to meet up with friends and colleagues, share knowledge and experiences from the last 18 months and take learnings back to our workplaces.
“However, the recent outbreak in NSW and across many States means that we have no other option but to postpone a face-to-face conference once again. We are committed to ensuring we support our members through this difficult period and will therefore bring the conference to you on the virtual 'Park Bench' on 23rd and 24th November 2021.”
The National Awards Ceremony will also be held at a virtual gala event with presentations to all winners now scheduled for Friday 26th November.
Band added “we want to take a moment to recognise our amazing event partners, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors who have worked tirelessly with us on this journey for a while now. Your continued support of Parks and Leisure Australia and our members is recognised and appreciated.
“While it is not what any of us had planned, we hope you will support us and join your colleagues and friends on the 'Park Bench' for the PLA2021 Virtual Conference. where we will celebrate our collective resilience and dedication to forge connections without boundaries for the betterment of our industry.”
