Oztix teams up with Corner Group across Melbourne Venues

Australia's largest independent ticketing company, Oztix, has partnered with Corner Group - owners of Melbourne venues Corner Hotel and Northcote Social Club - providing Corner Group with access to Oztix customer service and business development teams, in-house marketing resources and industry leading technology.

The partnership between Oztix and Corner Group highlights the importance of mutual support between independent local businesses in the live music and event industry.

For Oztix co-founder Brian ‘Smash’ Chladil, it’s an honour to work with the iconic venues that support and celebrate artists across at all stages in their career.

Chladil notes “to be lucky enough now to be a partner, working alongside the Corner Group team, is about as good as it gets in my job. Both companies share an independent spirit and come to work because we love live music. It’s a great day for Oztix.”

Rod Smith, General Manager of Corner Group, explains that having a reliable and accessible ticketing service like Oztix has taken the heavy lifting out of selling tickets and adds "particularly as the industry reels after a tough 18 months, it feels good to partner with another long standing independent business that is aligned with our goals, and shares the love and appreciation for live music that we do."

The Corner Hotel and Northcote Social Club venues are now considered historic Melbourne icons. Richmond’s Corner Hotel has hosted live music since the 1940s and has witnessed countless significant music history moments. The White Stripes created the unforgettable riff to ‘Seven Nation Army’ during their soundcheck at the Corner. Meanwhile, U2 used the venue in the video for ‘Window in the Skies’. Crowded House, Lorde, Midnight Oil, Mick Jagger, Tame Impala, and Queens of the Stone Age are among those having performed at the venue

Northcote Social Club has its own storied music history. Its intimate band room has hosted the likes of The Pixies, Jose Gonzales, Gotye and Midnight Oil; and a few years ago if a punter ordered a drink at the bar, there’s a good chance it would have been served up by Courtney Barnett.

Much has changed in the ticketing sector since Oztix was launched by three friends in 2003 with Oztix now providing ticketing solutions to some of Australia’s favourite live events – including Big Day Out, Soundwave and THIS THAT.

Oztix recently celebrated its 18th Birthday by launching a complete rebrand and a homepage that boasts the market’s smartest event recommendation service.  Driven by a cutting-edge proprietary recommendation engine and fuelled by Oztix customer profile data, the AI technology creates an entirely unique browsing experience for each user.

Upcoming shows at Corner Hotel and Northcote Social Club include Milan Ring, Shag Rock, King Stingray, Ladyhawk and Trophy Eyes - with tickets available from Oztix.
