O’Brien Group Arena to host AIHL Finals

Melbourne’s O’Brien Group Arena will host the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) Finals on the weekend of 27th and 28th August.

The AIHL Finals consist of the top four teams at the end of the regular home and away season, with finalists competing for the Goodall Cup over two days (three games) in a single elimination tournament.

Looking forward to the event, O’Brien Group Arena General Manager Paul Keisler stated “we are excited that the 2016 Australian Ice Hockey League Finals will be at the O’Brien Group Arena again this year.

“O’Brien Group Arena is undoubtedly Australia’s best venue to host the teams and provide spectators with a quality ice hockey experience.”

The AIHL is Australia’s premier ice hockey league and is made up from eight teams representing Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth, Newcastle and Sydney.

O'Brien Group Arena is the home of the two Melbourne teams, Melbourne Ice and Melbourne Mustangs, who between them have won four out of the last five Goodall national championship cups.
