New waterpark set to open on Dubai beachfront
A new waterpark at Dubai beachfront development La Mer is set to open this week.
The Laguna Waterpark, under development by Dubai’s Meraas, featuring five main rides, a pool lounge, children’s zone and lazy river will open its doors on Saturday 12th May.
A day pass will cost Dhs99 (US$27) for residents when bought online in advance and Dhs125 (US$34) at the door. Tourists will have to pay Dhs159 (US$43).
Among the attractions are a surf machine and a slide tower with five slides - The Manta, Constrictor, The Loop, Freefall and Mad Racer.
The first phase of the wider La Mer development opened in October last year between Pearl Jumeira and Jumeira Bay. The overall project spans 12 hectares of existing and reclaimed land.
A series of shops, restaurants and cafes have opened since then, adding to existing amenities including showers and parking spaces.
