Strength training experts to come together in Perth

The upcoming 11th International Conference on Strength Training 2018 (ICST 2018) will offer a program featuring a combination of international and national speakers which will be stimulating and informative for delegates and students.

Being held 30th November to 3rd December at the Perth Exhibition and Conference Centre, the goal of ICST 2018 is to bring together strength and conditioning scientists, coaches, elite sports people and rising sports athletes to discuss emerging paradigms and breakthroughs at the forefront of strength and exercise research.

As one of the premier international strength training conferences, ICST 2018 will again bring together early-career investigators and senior scientists. Attendees will learn about recent findings in basic and translational research by hearing from international and national strength and conditioning and sports science experts, allowing new collaborations and synergies to be forged.

Strength training and conditioning for elite sports performance in both research and professional practice has undergone unprecedented revolution in recent years and this is beginning to deliver a real and significant impact across all sports internationally.

The biennial ICST conferences offer a unique opportunity for scientists and professionals to keep pace with such a rapidly evolving field. In order to recognise the increasing role of sport and exercise as medicine as well as ECU’s reputation for research in this field, we will also feature a program of speakers presenting the latest research and clinical practice of strength training in medicine and rehabilitation.

The final day, Monday 3rd December 2018, will be hosted at ECU Joondalup campus, where delegates are invited to tour the University’s state-of-the-art laboratories and view the facilities where our internationally renowned Master of Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning course has been a flagship program for over 10 years. ECU was ranked in the top 20 for Shanghai Global Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments for 2017.
