SKIDATA looks to deliver 'perfect' snow resort experiences

Mindful that guest service expectations are growing and few are willing to accept a long wait to purchase ski tickets or to rent ski equipment, SKIDATA is looking to meet these demands with a series of initiatives.

A SKIDATA spokesperson advises “these days, the perfect ski experience starts well before getting on the lift.

“Guests want a clear overview of the current slope conditions - as well as what is included in the new lunch menu at the ski hut.”

To satisfy this, SKIDATA now offers:

• An easy-to-implement online shop that enables the purchase of online tickets that will transform customers from strangers to identifiable guests. And with the use of a specific community app, operators can capture even more valuable data tracks from guests’ activities
• The ‘skiosk’ self-service ticketing that not only relieves workload during rush hours, but also offers additional services, such as the collection of payment for parking tickets.
• Dynamic pricing based on weather, snow and capacity parameters, to help operators achieve better planning through presales and higher utilisation in the off-season.

With the flexible open interfaces for third-party systems, these services can be quickly integrated into existing SKIDATA platform.

In Australasia since 1987, when the technology was installed at the Mt Blue Cow (now Perisher) ski resort, SKIDATA is today used at all major ski resorts in Australia: Thredbo, Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buller as well as Perisher (backed by its US distributor), along with Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld and Wellington’s Westpac Stadium.

SKIDATA will be exhibiting at Interalpin 2019 in Innsbruck, Austria from the 8th to 10th May

(Stand no. B139). Under the motto ‘Connect, Collect, Convert’ SKIDATA’s experts will be showing how SKIDATA solutions make business offerings more attractive to ski guests and how to provide more revenue opportunities.
