New video screen unveiled at Sydney's Drummoyne Oval

In a bid to further solidify the venue as a premier destination for local and elite sport, the City of Canada Bay Council has installed a state-of-the-art video replay screen at Drummoyne Oval.

The upgraded screen at the Sydney inner west site is a joint initiative by the Council and Cricket NSW, ensuring that the venue expands its capacity to host top-tier events, including Sydney Thunder matches and other community activities.

Canada Bay Mayor, Michael Megna commented “this upgrade represents a significant investment in the future of Drummoyne Oval, allowing us to attract more elite-level sport while creating a valuable community asset.

“Not only will the screen enhance the experience for spectators, but it also opens up opportunities for innovative uses such as outdoor movie nights and community events.”

The new high-definition screen features modern replay capabilities and scoreboard functionality, benefiting multiple sporting codes, including cricket, rugby and AFL.

Mayor Megna noted that the upgraded screen will also strengthen Drummoyne Oval’s position as the home of the Sydney Thunder, further enhancing its reputation as a key venue in the cricketing calendar, adding “this upgrade ensures Drummoyne Oval remains a hub for high-quality sporting events.

“I encourage the community to come down and experience the electrifying atmosphere during a match at Drummoyne Oval.”
