Sydney Sports Management Group appointed to run City of Canada Bay’s Cintra Park tennis facility
The City of Canada Bay has announced that the Sydney Sports Management Group (SSMG) has been appointed the new manager of its Cintra Park Tennis and Sports Centre.
Revealing that SSMG would be running the inner Sydney racquet facility, Canada Bay Mayor, Angelo Tsirekas advised “I am pleased to share Council has appointed Sydney Sports Management Group (SSMG) to operate the centre as part of a lease arrangement
“This Concord facility is a favourite for many residents. It currently includes 14 synthetic tennis courts, and is situated alongside key recreation spaces including netball courts, a hockey field, St Lukes Oval, and Concord Oval.”
With the Centre currently open for tennis to be played in accordance with COVIDSafe guidelines, SSMG’s Chief Executive Richard Price, who has previously managed Five Dock Leisure Centre, stated “I am personally very pleased to be back working in such a wonderful community and SSMG is delighted to be awarded the contract and looks forward to partnering with the City of Canada Bay, Tennis NSW and the local schools.
“We will ensure the continuation of services and the centre will provide a range of options including casual bookings as well as programmed activities such as Hot Shots (Tennis Australia), Cardio Tennis (Tennis Australia), organised social play, evening competition, private lessons, group lessons, table tennis and membership options.”
Mayor Tsirekas went on to say “it is fantastic that residents can continue to enjoy tennis in a COVID safe way during this time, and we look forward to seeing how Sydney Sports Management Group transforms the centre for our active, growing population.”
Scott Riley, founder of SSMG and former touring professional added “our group will be investing a significant amount of capital in Cintra Park Tennis and Sports Centre to improve this iconic facility to ensure it meets the community’s expectations for many years to come.”
