New training technology at Les Mills Auckland
Les Mills Auckland City club has introduced 22 award winning Precor Adaptive Motion Trainers to its cardio area.
The state-of-the-art fitness technology, which automatically adapts to a user's stride motion and length is the first form of cardio fitness equipment that allows users to instantly choose and change their stride motion and speed, without pushing control buttons on the display or waiting for the machine to respond.
The Adaptive Motion Trainers (AMT) allows people of all ages and fitness levels to experience a variety of movement in their workout, changing from deep lunges to short, mid-range and long strides, fast or slow, backward or forward. Providing a low impact cardiovascular workout, the Precor AMT burns loads of calories due to the high energy expenditure that training on the AMT demands.
The Precor AMT embodies a brand new way of exercising, according to Steve Lehen from Avanti Fitness, "whether the user is stepping, running or walking, the AMT immediately moves the way the user wants to move, when and how, without the inconvenience of pushing buttons or changing setting."
Les Mills Auckland City's gym Service Director Norm Phillips says the Precor AMT's appealing workout features, coupled with the convenience of the machine's footprint, meant the decision to install 22 machines was a straightforward one.
As Phillips explains "we were looking for new fitness equipment that gave members a satisfying workout experience. We were impressed by the AMT's new stride patterns and the variations that can be achieved on the AMT.
"Personal trainers and gym instructors are programming the AMTs into members' weekly workout regimes (with) our members enjoying getting their hearts pumping and keeping their muscles active, putting them on the path towards athletic toning and dramatically improved fitness levels.
"With a membership base of 12,500 at Les Mills Auckland City, we have positioned ourselves at the leading edge of workout programming and fitness equipment technology."
Steve Lehen adds that he has been thrilled to see a respected health and fitness organisation get on board with the Precor AMT.
"We are excited to see Les Mills Auckland City embrace emerging fitness technologies such as the Precor AMT. In terms of performance and design, it is one of the most signifi cant products in Precor's 27-year history."
The Precor AMT was awarded a Red Dot at the prestigious product design competition in Germany, in recognition of the innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability and clarity of function. The AMT also achieved Product of the Year in the international fitness industry's 2007 NOVA7 awards, and most recently, noted as Best Product Innovation at Fit2PRO, Belgium's national fitness industry trade show.
