New Perth water spray ground draws a crowd

The City of Vincent in northern Perth has celebrated the long-awaited opening of the Hyde Park Water Playground.

Opened just in time for summer, to the delight of parents and youngsters from across the region, the zero depth water spray grounds was designed and constructed by Vortex Aquatic Playgrounds in collaboration with the City of Vincent Council.

The new splash pad, which meets all Western Australian Department of Health (WA Health) approvals, features a new limestone building to house pool filters, new pumps, filters and a state-of-the-art Vortex Control System to ensure optimum water quality management.

Welcoming the opening, City of Vincent Mayor AlannahMacTiernan stated "this project has been on the books for several years and I am pleased to advise it is now completed."

Vortexs Australian distributor, Ron Swaab of PlayRope Pty Ltd added "a key component of the design was inclusivity - allowing families to enjoy water play together, regardless of age or physical ability.

"We purposely included a range of water features that allowed guests to interact with the playground and each other items like water cannons and tipping bells, as well as gentle bubblers and spray points suitable for smaller children.

"As one of the City's most popular parks, it is certain that the Hyde Park Aquatic Playground will be filled with children playing on the equipment we have installed."

PlayRope has also announced that its aquatics division, previously known as AquaFun, has been renamed Vortex Aquatic Playgrounds.
