New Mini Golf course replicates the 18-hole experience
Wembley Golf Course in Perth has opened its new $3.5 million Mini Golf.
Owned by the Town of Cambridge, the new attraction is not made up of novelty features, rather it is a scaled down version of a full sized course, taking into account tee and hole placements.
The first of its kind in Western Australia, the course features high-quality landscaping, shady trees, water features and sand traps expected to challenge people of all ages and skill level.
Developed over four years, the miniature course aims to attract new golfers, and particularly younger players.
Commenting on the development, Wembley Golf Course Manager Matt Day stated "a lot of younger people want to play it because it's quick, it's easy and it's something different.
"It's something that golfers will use and non-golfers will enjoy."
The course also features event pavilions and a children’s play area.
Also unique to Perth, nine of the 18 holes are wheelchair accessible.
The family friendly addition compliments the other recent developments at the Wembley Golf Course including 300 Acres Restaurant and bar, function facilities, kiosk, change rooms, expansion of the Golf Shop, a ceremony pavilion, playground and new practice area.
Wembley Golf Course is expected to deliver a $1.67 million surplus to the Council this financial year.
